Thor ragnarok dr strange
Odin's move to Norway and his natural death releasing Hela instead of being slain by her made the extended search for Loki an unnecessary add-on in the long run. Originally, Hela killed Odin in an alleyway in New York before following Thor and Loki back to Asgard. Odin's death in the film also likely impacted the version of the scene that ended up being used. The final cut streamlined this by having Loki immediately returned to Thor upon leaving the Sanctum and providing them both with a quick portal directly to Odin's new location in Norway. With most of the story taking place in Asgard and Sakaar, the added time spent looking for Loki and Odin in New York forced Thor to stay on Earth longer than necessary. Though this version of events has its own clever humor attached to it (and a fitting punishment for Loki after exiling his own father to Earth), its eventual change makes sense as the scene likely bogged down the pace of the film. RELATED: Thor: Ragnarok's Key Battles Were Planned Using 8-Bit Video Games Falling for 30 minutes doesn't sound like a walk in the park, but at least in that version, Loki didn't have to deal with the smells and sounds of New York City porta potties for half an hour. Loki responded, "No one else needed a key," leading Thor to laugh as he realized that Loki had been trapped in the porta potty as people came in to use it, unseen by them but very aware of what they were doing. Loki asked what took Thor so long, with Thor stating that he needed the key. Thor used the key to open it and then found his brother inside, holding himself up above the seat with a clear look of disgust. A man walked out of one of the toilets, which Thor then inspected, finding nothing inside until a lock magically appeared on the door.

To Thor's surprise and Loki's condemnation, the green dot led Thor to a row of portable toilets. Thor left the Sanctum through the front door instead of a portal, setting off back into the city to find his brother and father. A key suddenly appeared in Thor's mouth and he was told that he'd need it to retrieve Loki. The two gods most likely arrived on Earth as they did in the final version, with Loki being suddenly captured by one of Doctor Strange's portals and the God of Thunder left with an address for the Sanctum Santorum, Strange's residence. As the deleted scene showed, Strange told Thor that his father was actually in New York City, using a strand of Thor's hair to summon a map instead of a portal to Norway, as he did in the final cut. Thor and Loki's trip to Earth originally panned out a bit differently. A deleted scene of the hit Marvel Cinematic Universe movie revealed how Doctor Strange first trapped Loki when he and Thor came to Earth looking for their father, Odin. Yet, Strange's choice of trap for Loki was originally a lot less mystical and a lot more stinky. Strange's interaction with Thor and Loki, where he trapped Loki in an endless loop of falling for half an hour, was one of the funniest scenes of the movie. Thor: Ragnarokgave Marvel fans a pleasant surprise with the guest appearance of Doctor Strange early in the film.
